Lik Residence
World famed landscape photographer Peter Lik spends a great deal of his life outdoors in the most incredible places. His love of nature was the foundation for the design of the 11,000 square foot home he chose in one of Las Vegas’ most exclusive neighborhoods. In order to achieve the natural rustic look he wanted, we used three earth elements. One element is the use of bamboo planking as a ceiling treatment, making it a design feature and also helped warm up the large space. The second element is the stone used on the back-splash and columns. The third element is a mix of woods, from the exotic veneer on the kitchen sliding doors to the large scale aged wood furniture throughout the house. As requested, we integrated Lik’s most famous photographs into each space. By combining the natural with the modern and using a mix of textures and warm colors the result was the masculine modern home that he desired. |
